After watching this video, the next time you play the original Super Mario Bros., I bet you’ll think twice about killing a helpless Goomba. Honestly, I know Mario can be hurt by the little guy, but can’t he just ‘go around them?’ Goombas can’t jump, walk around him or do anything besides march in a straight line. On occasion they bump into something and trot the other way.
You know when I think of it, most of the characters in the game don’t even attack Mario. Instead, Mario attacks them. Wait, Mario is no hero — he’s evil! Someone please call PETA.

Okay, this is the coolest thing I’ve seen today. The guys over at GnamSpot recreated the first level of Super Mario Bros., using edible beans..on a plate. The idea was simple, they used stop-motion animation and placed each bean accordingly and remade the famous level. Surprisingly, it’s really easy to recognize the whole world — which is a talent in itself because…it’s beans… on a plate. Seriously, can anything in this world be cuter?

What happens if Mario were to receive one of those “Whistles” from the third game, but instead of being transported further into the Mushroom Kingdom, he went to Chicago. The video we have up top, shows exactly that. And honestly, as great as Super Mario Bros. 3 was, I would have rather played this game. Like, look how good the graphics are!
Anyway, enjoy the video up top. It should be able to get a laugh out of you.

Is it just me or do other people find it hilarious when our beloved 8-bit video game stars rapping? No? Good. The video up top is a perfect example why this new trend needs to continue. The clip features Mario, Link and Mega Man deciding to go fishing while they drink, smoke and rhyme. Sure, they’re not as innocent as we once thought, but what hero is these days!?
The song is from the group ‘Inhumans‘ and the song is called “Put it on a Hook.”

I never realized how violent games were in the 80s. We were tricked into thinking classics like Dig Dug and Mario 2 were simply cute games in a cartoon world. This was further from the truth, as the video up top tries to prove.
When you play these games again, don’t be fooled by the bleeps and boop sounds, what is actually going on the screen is truly evil!
Niko in GTA IV has nothing on Princess Peach…

I’m going to say it, Super Mario Galaxy could be the best game to come out this generation. From the moment I started to play it, my mouth was wide open from amazement. Seeing Mario run around a mini-planet and gravity taking control of him was an incredible experience.
Apparently, I was not the only one because JimLad800 over at youtube, created a tribute video, using Mario Galaxy and the song “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. For the most part, I generally don’t like user created music videos, but this one is an exception. Maybe it’s because I love the game so much or maybe it is the song — I in fact do love Queen. Now when I think about it, it’s probably a combination. At the same time, it’s also a little bit of talent to put something together and fit so perfect.

When Nintendo was new to the world, they must have released this video to official retail stores around the county. For me, it was kind of fun to watch the video because it’s amazing how simple the video game industry once was. Back then, it really was only Nintendo around and if that somehow was a confusing period — how did we ever end up where we are today!?
Also is Jim the nicest sales person ever or what? Today, we would get some annoying teen, chewing gum and couldn’t care less about the customers needs. Yeah, they are dicks!

There have been a lot of videos that spoof the Wii. They mostly have to do with girls and sexual acts, but this time around its the male. I don’t want to ruin the ending because I find it hilarious, but if there is a lesson to be learned — make sure you always leave the Wiimote when you leave the room if there is a girl present.
Also, if anyone knows what they are advertising, please email me at slashgamer@gmail.com. I would like to give them credit.

The Pitch: Paul Robertson created a video parody of an old-skool 2D side scroller. The clip is called Hyper Parsnip Bitches. The video is obviously over the top, but when you watch the level of detail he put into it, it really does feel like a retro game.
It might not make sense, but that is why we think it’s funny. And if it was a real game; it would have been the greatest game ever made!

Freddy Wong, you are my new hero…actually you are my new Bike Hero. I really don’t want to ruin the video, but he calls the viral marketing company Droga 5 “douchebags,” and we agree! He then takes it one step further and plays Dragonforce on expert — on his bike!!

Nicolas created what could be the best Megaman of all-time using stop motion animation. Watch Megaman avoid real world objects such as a paper cutter and balancing himself on old Game Boy cartridges. And make sure you check out one of the many epic boss battles as he fights a human hand holding a fork…
Obviously this isn’t a game, but its easily just as creative and deserves recognition. This must have taken some time to film.

The Pitch: Legendary musician Louis Armstrong sings “Super Mario World.” Okay, he’s been dead for almost 30 years but Brentalfloss created this parody that sounds likes the famous song “What a Wonderful World.” Funny stuff.

Man, us geeks/nerds are apparently the most romantic beings in the universe. A couple of weeks ago we showed a video of a gamer using the LittleBigPlanet level creator to propose to his now Fiance. Now another gamer went even further. TheRealPfhreak hacked one of the best RPG’s off all time — Chrono Trigger and had his girlfriend play…Oh and she said yes!
After the jump, check out why and how he did it. (more…)

If you at all know anything about the upcoming election, than you should be familiar about the internet-famous Obama Girl, (Amber Lee Ettinger). She stars in the video above but apparently she changed her candidate of choice because she now has a crush on Howard Ackerman (J.K. Simmons), from Red Alert 3.
EA’s has been doing a fantastic job creating viral videos. First the TIger Woods Shot, Katy Perry Sims 3 video and now this. EA has really stepped up to the plate as of late.
