Media Molecule Reveals Ghostbusters DLC for LittleBigPlanet

Media Molecule has just confirmed that they officially going to be releasing Ghostbusters pack for LittleBigPlanet, which they teased last week. Up top is what the studio revealed on their website today and as you can tell, it will allow LBP owners to dress up SackBoy as a Ghostbuster. But guess what? That’s not all. Thanks to Sony in Japan, they have revealed even more on their website.

The picture in the middle shows off SackBoys cosplaying as Slimer, Stay Puft (Sack Puff) Marshmallow Man and oddly enough; the Ghostbusters’ iconic symbol.

As cool as it looks, I’m a tad disappointed. I was really hoping for the ability to use the Proton Pack and shoot the beams, much like the Metal Gear pack, which award players to shoot a paintball gun. I also wouldn’t have mind the company including the ‘Ghostbusters theme’ song for the download. Although, that did seem somewhat unlikely.

Either way, consider me sold. LittleBigPlanet is easily one of my favorite games to come out this generation and Ghostbusters is one of my favorite films, the combination is almost perfect.

Media Molecule Teases Ghostbusters Pack for LittleBigPlanet

Media Molecule has been no slouch when it comes to creating new downloadable content for their hit game, LittleBigPlanet. We’ve seen countless packages of original content and on occasion seen licensed products make its way to the videogame. While most of it has been cool, especially the Metal Gear pack — I would like to see more well known DLC themes.

Today, the talented studio is teasing their fans of a possible Ghostbusters pack. If you head to their official website, you’ll notice a picture with a black background and white font that reads “Who ya gonna call?” Obviously, that is from the Ghostbusters’ theme song, which was song by Ray Parker Jr. If this tease is in fact a Ghostbusters theme, imagine the possibilities.

Not only could we dress up SackBoy in the well known tan uniform; with the logo and all, but they could actually add the proton pack to the DLC. Remember, when the Metal Gear LBP download was released, Media Molecule added the paintball gun. Because of that, it would be feasible to think we could see the Ghostbusters‘ weapon of choice included to the DLC. Heck, they could even add the Ray Parker Jr. Ghostbusters theme song — now that would kick ass.

Of course, this is nothing but pure speculation on my part, hell they might not even release anything that has to do with the Ghostbusters. Although, this tease makes it seem like it will happen, and the company is going to reveal soon.

Whatever it is, there is no question it will be some kind of downloadable content. If you head over to the company’s flickr page, you will see the same image above, but with a few logo’s — however, none of them indicate Ghostbusters. But where the ‘tags’ are on the page, the only one listed reads; ‘dlc‘.

Best Buy: $399 PS3 Bundle with WALL-E and LittleBigPlanet

If you don’t own a PlayStation 3, but you are on the fence about actually purchasing one, you might want to head down to your local Best Buy right now because they are offering a terrific bundle as we speak.

Right now, the big box retail store is selling an 80GB PlayStation 3, along with WALL-E on Blu-ray; which could be the one of the best Pixar films, and included is maybe the best PS3 game LittleBigPlanet.

Now get this, the price of the bundle is the same as just a system alone — which runs at $399. That is a steal, folks. Basically, if you snag one of these bundles you would be saving about $90, give or take a few bucks.

This is such a good deal that owners of the system should already have in their possession these two things anyway; so you might want to give in to your impulse and buy this package.

WALL-E and LittleBigPlanet are currently receiving a 93 and 95 respectively, on metacritic.

Media Molecule Celebrates 4th of July with ‘Statue of Sack’

Even though Media Molecule is a British Based company, that doesn’t mean the studio won’t be celebrating the United States’ Independence Day. According to the official website, the company is going to release a “limited-time costume” for LittleBigPlanet on July 2, which is going to disguise SackGirl like the world famous Statue of Liberty. The best part? It’s free to all owners of LittleBigPlanet.

Again, the free downloadable content is only good for a limited-time, so make sure you turn on your PlayStation 3; boot-up LittleBigPlanet and download the costume on July 2. As of now, MM is not telling us a specific date when plan on pulling the content — or when they plan on charging users.

Job Listing Suggests Media Molecule is Working on LittleBigPlanet ’2′

LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule has just posted a job listing on Edge‘s classified section. Although what game they are currently working on is not known, they did mention it will be “a ground-breaking, AAA, PS3 title for Sony Computer Entertainment

Considering the United Kingdom based studio is fairly small, it wouldn’t be a surprise that this could be a listing for a sequel to LittleBigPlanet. Some other information from the job posting suggest that it could be just that. The candidate they are looking for must have “experience writing and maintaining physics code” and even had past work where the game included “an online component.”

If you don’t know, those two quotes are two of the biggest features in the first LittleBigPlanet. That sounds to me like they are creating another SackBoy game and I can’t wait!

Ico DLC Coming to LittleBigPlanet

Media Molecule, who is the team behindĀ  LittleBigPlanet, are teasing the internet with with the image above. As you can tell, the art is SackBoy and SackGirl dressed up as the characters from Ico.

Someone decided to ask the company using twitter, if this picture means we’ll be seeing some kind of Ico themed downloadable content for LittleBigPlanet. Their response was simple.

why yes, yes it is.”

That’s sounds like a confirmation to me. With E3 right around the corner, and the Trico trailer being leaked, it seems like this is actually going to happen.

More to come during E3, so check back.

Sackboy Makes World of Warcraft Look Cute

Proof: World of Warcraft would be 100 percent more adorable if it included Sackboy. Or would this be called a level 80 Blood SACKelf Warlock? You know what? I honestly don’t care…

Anyway, it’s damn cute, right?

The credit goes to maggie wang and her co-worker. Now, if only I could make something as cool as this, then my life would be complete.

Images for LittleBigPlanet’s Judge Dredd DLC

Judge Dredd might have been a box office failure, but obviously people liked the comic book enough to warrant a film. I guess Media Molecule enjoyed the comic book so much, they have the rights to make downloadable content featuring Judge Dredd costumes for LittleBigPlanet.

Up top is the first screen of Sackboy doing his best impersonation of reject Sylvester Stallone movie. The picture below is Judge Anderson, who could use her psychic powers in the Dredd universe.

The new DLC will be available in the PlayStation Network Store this Thursday, the 28th.

After the jump check out one more entertaining picture.

Ratchet & Clank Content Coming to LittleBigPlanet?

Insomniac Games maybe just spilt the beans on some upcoming content for LittleBigPlanet. The reveal came from the companies twitter, and they announced Ratchet & Clank downloadable content is coming to Media Molecule’s brilliant game.

lbp levels coming, r&c content done, coming soon hopefully, up next for mm, big pack, bigger than mgs even.”

Basically from the sounds of it, Insomniac is confirming that Media Molecule’s next downloadable content will be inspired by the great Ratchet & Clank franchise, and will be even better than the Metal Gear Solid one, which came out last year.

If it is anything like the Metal Gear DLC, expect to see some of the crazy weapons that Insomniac Games have featured in the Ratchet & Clank series.
