Grand Theft Auto V For PS4 Requires A 50GB Install; Largest Ever

GTA V PS4 Screen

Grand Theft Auto V for the PlayStation 4 is gonna be huge. A I don’t mean from a sales standpoint. A user from a GTA V forum, captured a screenshot that shows the space required on the HDD in order to play the remastered version of the open-world game on the PS4. A a mandatory 50GB install is the necessary space needed.

If this is indeed correct, and I’m sure it is, than that gives this version of GTA V the new title belt as “the biggest install for a video game to date.” The previous champion will be Wolfenstein: The New Order, which was released a few months ago, with a 47GB install.   (more…)

Rockstar Calls GTA V Conspiracy Theories “Nonsense.”

Rockstar Games has made a statement regarding some of the “conspiracy theories” surrounding the delay of Grand Theft Auto V, by calling it “nonsense.” Rockstar is responding to gaming blogs and various forums throughout the Internet. They’re suggesting that the studio delayed the title because they plan on releasing it on not just this current generation systems but also the next integration of consoles. So the conspiracy is that Rockstar needed the extra time to produce an “Xbox 720” and “PlayStation 4” version. But that’s just rubbish, according to the company. (more…)

Report: Take-Two Could Move 18 Million Copies of GTA V in the First Six Months

I doubt anybody on the planet thinks Grand Theft Auto V is not going to be a major blockbuster in entertainment when it’s released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia agrees with that notion too.

According to his rough calculation, Grand Theft Auto V will move approximately 18 million copies during the first six months of its launch. Bhatia crunch the numbers in his “hypothetical profitability model,” and concluded that if Take-Two, the game’s publisher, did sell those units they could income about $230 million in operating profit. According to him, Take-Two spent about $137.5 million in developmental cost, which had about a 250 person team working on the project for five years. And in his calculations he expects that Take-Two will spend anywhere from $69 million to $109.3 million in advertising. (more…)

Grand Theft Auto V Delayed a Tad, Dated for 9/17

It’s official, we have a solid date. Rockstar Games has finally revealed when Grand Theft Auto V will hit store shelves. And while that’s great news overall, there is a hint of disappointment in the air – you can smell it.

The highly anticipated sequel will be shipped to retailers on September 17, 2013. This is about four months later then what Rockstar was hinting at just a short while ago. And inside the release date statement, Rockstar went out of their way to apologize to their legion of fans expecting to play the highly anticipated sandbox title in the next couple of months. Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC Listed on RockStar’ Worker’s LinkendIn

It shouldn’t be a shocker to anyone that Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto 5 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but nothing for PC. Rewind a little bit when GTA V was released back in 2008, the Xbox 360 version, along with the PS3, was released eight months before the PC version. I’m assuming the same thing is going to happen for the fifth installment.

Today we get the first credible evidence to suggest that my assumption is correct. The examiner did some investigative work and noticed that senior animator over Rockstar Games, Robert Schacter, has stated that on his LinkendIn profile that he is currently working on animations for Grand Theft Auto 5 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
