Probably one the better surprises at E3 for portable gaming was the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP. The game, which is written and produced by the legendary game designer Hideo Kojima, follows events 10 years after Metal Gear Solid 3. Kojima promises that the title is not some spin-off or half-ass game, but a completely new story of the Metal Gear universe.
Konami has just released some new images of the game and boy is it shaping up rather nice. Graphically speaking, the PSP doesn’t seem like it will have a hard time portraying the lush jungles of Costa Rico on the tiny screen. Nor does it look like the system’s specs will diminish the Metal Gear solid experience. This is one to watch out for.

Would you believe the picture of the Super Nintendo above actually works? Well it does because it’s a mod that skadrums17 from retrotaku created and it’s possibly the second scariest system made next to the original Genesis.
Not only will this bad boy freak out some poor innocent child, but probably scare anyone who wants to retro game late at night. When the lights are shut off, the system will give off a green glow, thanks to LEDs that are attached beneath the console.

Along with the Ghostbusters costumes that will be released for LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule will also come out with a sticker pack for the videogame. As you can tell, some of the stickers will have a cool cartoon feel, which ‘kinda’ remind of the Ghostbusters’ 80s television show. The other portion of the stickers include a weird, but somewhat photo realistic version of the movie. Although, why does the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man on the right look like he’s on drugs, and paranoid from them?
Below is a new picture of the costumes. The Ghostbusters pack is scheduled to come out on July 16, 2009.

Media Molecule has just confirmed that they officially going to be releasing Ghostbusters pack for LittleBigPlanet, which they teased last week. Up top is what the studio revealed on their website today and as you can tell, it will allow LBP owners to dress up SackBoy as a Ghostbuster. But guess what? That’s not all. Thanks to Sony in Japan, they have revealed even more on their website.
The picture in the middle shows off SackBoys cosplaying as Slimer, Stay Puft (Sack Puff) Marshmallow Man and oddly enough; the Ghostbusters’ iconic symbol.

As cool as it looks, I’m a tad disappointed. I was really hoping for the ability to use the Proton Pack and shoot the beams, much like the Metal Gear pack, which award players to shoot a paintball gun. I also wouldn’t have mind the company including the ‘Ghostbusters theme’ song for the download. Although, that did seem somewhat unlikely.
Either way, consider me sold. LittleBigPlanet is easily one of my favorite games to come out this generation and Ghostbusters is one of my favorite films, the combination is almost perfect.

Talk about being annoying with a videogame title. When the first Modern Warfare 2 teaser trailer was released, we all thought the Activision dropped the Call of Duty name from the title. Every trailer released since then for Modern Warfare 2 was noticeably missing ‘Call of Duty’ at the end of the clip. We figured, along with everyone else, that Infinity Ward‘s next title would only be called Modern Warfare 2.
Today, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling decided to tweet that he has the final box art of Modern Warfare 2. “Just received the first Modern Warfare 2 boxes straight off the press,” he tweeted. “Shit just got real.” He was then nice enough to take a picture and show off the boxes to the Internet. The art itself is just the cool Game Informer cover, which had the exclusive blowout of the game. However, the box reads “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.”
Why wouldn’t the trailers, which were most likely made by Activision, not include the famous ‘Call of Duty’ name is beyond me.

I’ve been thinking about what kind of car I would get if I were to get buy one sometime soon. I’m not going to lie, I’m not huge about any particular vehicle, I really just want something that goes from point ‘A’ to ‘B.’ Although, these pictures that I’m posting might have just changed my mind.
TheCoolHunter released images of these MINI Coopers, which have a Space Invaders and Pac-Man theme design and as of now, the cars are sadly not available. According to the site, this is all part of a project and to be honest, I don’t think these pictures are even real and they are probably just concept art. But it sounds there is a small possibility that someone is working on these designs as we speak, and maybe could happen one day. If so, sign me up!
We should also note, that these pictures are being mistakenly credited towards artist Matt Moore. However, Gamedaily has confirmed that Moore is denying such an involvement and as of now, we don’t know who actually made them.

Even though Media Molecule is a British Based company, that doesn’t mean the studio won’t be celebrating the United States’ Independence Day. According to the official website, the company is going to release a “limited-time costume” for LittleBigPlanet on July 2, which is going to disguise SackGirl like the world famous Statue of Liberty. The best part? It’s free to all owners of LittleBigPlanet.
Again, the free downloadable content is only good for a limited-time, so make sure you turn on your PlayStation 3; boot-up LittleBigPlanet and download the costume on July 2. As of now, MM is not telling us a specific date when plan on pulling the content — or when they plan on charging users.

A couple of days ago, we mentioned that Jimmy Fallon challenged Tiger Woods in a game of golf, but using Tiger’s own game “PGA Tour 10,” for the Wii. It was confirmed by EA that they would be playing and it would be happening tonight on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon on NBC at 12:35AM.
Because the show is always taped hours before it airs, Woods vs Tiger actually just happened outside the studio in New York City at Times Square. Up top is a picture of the event, which is courtesy of MTV.
According to Russ Frushtick, who writes for the site, attended the challenge and reported that Jimmy Fallon is by far a better golfer than Tiger Woods. Both men played 3-holes. In the last hole Tiger needed a hole-in-one to even have a chance to beat Jimmy. Before he tried, he mentioned to Fallon that he has had 19 career hole-in-ones, but when he tried to get his 20th — he failed.
If you want to check out the event, tune in and watch it tonight on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Of course, you’ll probably have to sit through the show in order to see it. If you don’t want to watch the show — we should have video of the golf-off tomorrow.

Rockstar Games has released the first high-resolution screens for Max Payne 3. If you don’t know, the first two installments were developed by Remedy Entertainment, however, the studio is currently working on Alan Wake. So,Rockstar had no choice but to hand the game over to another developer and it definitely shows.
Rockstar Vancouver, who is best known for Bully, has assumed duties for the next Max Payne. While graphically shines, it just doesn’t look or feel like Max Payne. The series is known for its gritty-dark film-noir style story-telling, but now it seems like the game it taken a much more colorful look.

While I have no doubt the title is attended for mature audiences and it will probably end up being a pretty good game overall, I just think it has taken a step back from what Max Payne did so well, which was telling a story from a dark and depressing place. Not only was Max Payne’s mind weeping and seeking revenge because of his murdered wife and child, but the environments being rugged like they were; was a great metaphor for Payne’s gloomy heart.
After the jump, check out the rest of the screens. (more…)

Web-comic Scott Hampson had conceived the picture up top. If you have a twitter account, than you know having people following you isn’t always a good. Poor, poor Pac-Man.

The Red Ring of Death has become a never ending struggle for Xbox owners everywhere, and it has also become a joke among everyone else. Up top are a set of coasters that celebrate the nuisance that has killed millions of Xbox 360 systems across the world.
Flickr user iPablosu’s friend made these clever table protectors and gamergrrlz was so inspired, she made her own set as well (below).

I wish I could own a couple of these bad boys and slam it with a nice cold brewski and remind the 360 who’s the bitch.

Up until the most recent one, there have been a ton of awful videogames based off the Ghostbusters franchise. The new game is overall getting good reviews, however, the same can’t be said about most of its predecessors. One of these games was for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Sure, when I was little I enjoyed it, but lets face it — if you grew up in the 80s, most games sucked; even the ones we liked.
The team behind this new version, Terminal Reality, has paid homaged to the NES Ghostbusters. If you play the game and head upstairs in the firehouse and check out the computer-monitor display, you’ll notice an easter egg. It has a black screen with the words and it reads: “Conglaturation !!! You have completed a great game. And Prooved the Justice of our Culture. Now go and Rest Heroes !“ Yes, that is exactly how it reads!

If you have beaten Ghostbusters on the NES, this would have been the last screen you would have seen after the game ended abruptly. In fact, this was ridiculed so much, the Angry Video Game Nerd devoted a few minutes on this exact screen.
You really have to give kudos to Terminal Reality for putting this hidden message in the game, it certainly made me chuckle.

When you look at it, Nintendo has a pretty strong lineup after their E3 press briefing. Since the start of 2009, the company has revealed a new Metroid, Zelda and two Mario games. There is also a understanding that a new Wii Zelda game is also in the works.
Now, it looks like Nintendo is set to reveal another game, which would star one of their obscure characters, who is the fairy named Tingle. Tingle was a annoying side-character in a few select Zelda games, and even had a few games of his own.
The newest issue of the Japanese publication Famitsu, has an advertisement teaser that has written on it (when translated) “Fairy?“. Below the text, we see a small version of Tingle, while he is riding what looks like a balloon.
Because of how limited the teaser advertisement is, we don’t know if it will be a full retail game or just a downloadable title. Heck, it might not even come out in America, although that seems unlikely.

Media Molecule announced that they are going to release Team Ico “costumes, stickers and sound effects,” for LittleBigPlanet. It was already rumored that we would be downloading some Ico properties, when the developers released artwork of SackBoy and SackGirl dressed up as Ico and Yorda from the classic title.
Now, the company has actually released images of the DLC, which we have up top and below. Not only that, they have already promised that more content for Shadow of the Colossus will be on the way, and will be first shown tomorrow.

MM is promising we’ll be able to play as Sackico and friends this Thursday.
After the jump, read the official description. (more…)

If you are like me and love the original Perfect Dark, than hearing Major Nelson confirm on his twitter that it would be coming to Xbox Live Arcade was welcoming news. For the last few months, Rare was teasing (or it was a mistake) us with various photos of Joanna Dark as an avatar on Xbox Live. During E3, we finally got a tweet from Nelson which revealed that it was indeed coming to XBLA.
Not only are we getting to relive the classic first-person shooter once again on Microsoft‘s system, the re-release will feature 1080p resolution, run at 60 frames-per-second and probably Xbox Live online multiplayer support. It sounds like it will appear on the online service this winter, which was all revealed by Nelson.
Up top is one of a few screens that have been released so far for the XBLA game, and click here to check out the rest. You can tell it is obviously updated when compared to its N64 predecessor.
