Cool Stuff: Video Game Magnets

ArcadeArt over at etsy has created these brilliant video game magnets. The three separate packs include a modern day video game, but the magnets are styled like a pixelated 8-bit video game, rather than their ‘high-end’ graphics.

The three sets are Pikmin, Resident Evil and my personal favorite Half-Life (top). If you want to purchase one of items, the seller is asking for $20 and that includes three magnets that can be hang on your refrigerator.

Cool Stuff: Custom ‘Big Sister’ Sculpture From BioShock 2

BioShock 2 is months away, but that did not stop darthleaon_customs to sculpt his very own Big Sister. As you can tell from the picture, it is extremely detailed, but you should know — it’s less than 4 inches tall. Which even make it that much more impressive.

In order to make something like this, and have it look the way it does — someone would have to bestowed inside them some unbelievable talent.

So far, it is safe more me to say it is easily the best custom Big Sister figure I’ve seen yet. Of course, I pretty sure it is the only one I have come across thus far. Although, good luck to anyone who thinks they can outdo darthleaon_customs’ work.

After the jump, check out more pictures.

Cool Stuff: Who Pacs the Pac-Men? (Shirt)

“Who Pacs the Pac-men? ” Who knows and who cares, this shirt is awesome nonetheless. T-shirt designer/artist James Lillis made this Watchmen parody shirt. Obviously he brilliantly replaced the famous happy face with the blood stain on it from the ‘Comedian,’ and replaced it with…Pac-man. I wish I had bought this shirt before I went to see a screening of the movie — damn. Oh well, there is always the day when I buy it on Blu-Ray.

If you want to purchase the shirt for $29.94, click here.

Cool Stuff: Retro Games Custom Painted on Retro Systems

Punch-Out!!

Although these sales are old, they’re still cool nonetheless. eBay user hellokitty11111111111 (yes that’s the right name) was auctioning a few NES’ and a couple of Super Nintendos, but each one were hand painted. The art was inspired from some gaming classics like, Super Mario Bros. 3, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! and more.

My personal Favorite has to be the Castlevania, but a close second would be the Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. It just reminds me how awesome the pixel-art was in that game.

CastleVania

I also like how the artist decided to paint most of the retro machines mimicking actual gameplay from each title. Each one almost seems like a screenshot rather than a painting.

Cool Stuff: New Found Glory Shirt Inspired by Punch-Out!!

The Black Axe is a t-shirt design company that thinks up shirts for various bands. The shirt up top is for the group “New Found Glory,” and the concept is obviously heavily-influenced by ‘Punch-Out!!.’

The shirt features two boxers, who are unquestionably similar to ‘Little Mac‘ and ‘Bald Bull‘ from the classic boxing video game.

I wish I liked the band more, but because I’m not a fan — I kinda wish they sold the shirt without the name of the rock group.

Cool Stuff: The Ghosts of Pac-Man T-Shirts

For some reason, when I was young; I thought the ghosts of Pac-Man looked kind of like a t-shirt. Maybe because the graphics on a old arcade machine didn’t give me much ‘ghost’ detail — so, my brain thought they were shirts by the shape. I know it’s strange, but that is what they reminded me of. Because of my  imagination as a child, I fell in love with these shirts instantly.

As you can tell, the shirts have the faces of Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde. I love how if I were to where these, the faces would be my chest and torso. The guys who designed these, even had some shirts that made the expression of the ghosts right before Pac-Man attacked them.

If you want to find about how you can purchase them, click here.
