In a surprising announcement, Microsoft confirmed the Xbox One will have backwards compatibility starting this holiday season. Players will be able to take their current Xbox 360 disc, download a quick update, and it will run natively on their new Xbox one. Many of the features that are available on Xbox One, like taking a screenshot with Kinect, will also work with Xbox 360 games.
Games will also run a tad better, thanks to the advanced hardware for the Xbox One, when the feature debuts this holiday season.

Here we go again. Another year has gone by, which means another Call of Duty. But unlike the last 2,000 sequels that have been released, this one is being built on next generation hardware. If that doesn’t get you pumped, you’re probably a normal person.
Today, Activision has revealed a new trailer, and we have it after the jump, which focuses mostly on the campaign, and with a quick tease of multiplayer. And in all seriousness, this game is shaping up like it could be fun. Sure… it’s probably been “inspired” by Titianfall, but that’s a good thing. It’s getting fans of the franchise a breath of fresh air, and it might possibly introduce some new ones. And maybe…just maybe…ex-fans might return. But maybe that’s also just wishful thinking. According to Nelson, the gaming machine is getting the app in the “very near future.” Redbox Instant, much like Netflix, is a subscription-based service, where customers pay a monthly fee in order to stream content onto their devices. The quick scene that shows New York City being bombarded by missiles, wasn’t from the country’s special-effects department (I’m sure they have one, right?) — no — it was stolen from the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Apparently someone within the country forgot to DVR a disaster film like Independence Day. I think that would’ve looked more realistic, so that’s my conclusion why they used footage from the 2011 video game
If you watch the bizarre propaganda video, that we have embedded up top, it will be a tad confusing to understand, so we’ll explain it for you. (more…)

So the conspiracy is that Rockstar needed the extra time to produce an “Xbox 720” and “PlayStation 4” version. But that’s just rubbish, according to the company. (more…)
