Sony Announces The PlayStation Experience Convention In Las Vegas This December

PlayStation Experience Logo

Sony has unveiled a PlayStation event, celebrating their gaming community, as well as the PlayStation brand being 20-years old. The convention, officially called the PlayStation Experience, will run from December 6-7 in Las Vegas, NV. The two-day gathering is promising hands-on game time with yet to be released PlayStation titles, along with panels, exclusive collectables and free swag. Attendees will be given exclusive access to upcoming games for the Playstation lineup. So don’t be surprised if this is the first time Sony shows off Uncharted 4 gameplay to the public.

The 18 and over event will set you back $50 for one day, or $90 for both. The actual venue has yet to be announced, but Sony is promising it’ll be huge. And it’s hard not to believe them, Vegas has plenty of convention space, along with the largest collection of douchebags on Mother Earth.

It’s been awhile since a hardware gaming company decided to hold its own convention. The last big one I can remember was Nintendo’s Space World, which was last held back in 2001 in Japan. By the time PlayStation Experience happens, the PlayStation 4 will just be about 13 months old. That’s kind of incredible that Sony thinks it has a large enough fan base to convince thousands of them to travel to Vegas, in just a few short months, for just a PlayStation event…I know I’m already thinking about it.
