Dragon Quest II Uploaded Onto iOS and Google Play Stores
Today, Square Enix has released an iOS and Android version of Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, also known as Dragon Warrior here in the US, when it was first released in 1990 for the NES.
The publisher did a overhaul with the mobile version, offering simpler controls so players can play one handed. The opened-world RPG can now be played vertical, while the control scheme promises to be “simple and intuitive.” Kinda sounds like Apple marketing, huh?
Unlike many apps & games on mobile platforms, Square Enix has completely eliminated that concept for this release. Players just need to spend the initial price of $4.99, and that’s it. No extra dollar for a special weapon or to continue playing.
While the press didn’t get review copies, users gave started to voice their opinion on the iOS App Store, and so far it’s been positive. While it’s not many reviews, the mobile version of the classic retro game is currently receiving a five out of five rating.
