Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter Only Works For Smash Bros.
Hey look everyone, Nintendo is screwing up once again.
After rumors started to circulate around the information super-highway that the Gamecube controller adapter for the Wii U would work with other existing games for the system and its Virtual Console, Nintendo confirmed that it would NOT. Obviously if the gossip proved to be true, that would’ve broke a streak of years for Nintendo of making the right decision based off of common sense. Once again, the Internet has been fooled by Nintendo.
A UK spokesperson from Nintendo was contacted by Eurogamer, and shot down the ridiculous rumor:
“The GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U is compatible with Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U specifically – it is not compatible with any other Wii U software. The adapter is also not compatible with Wii and we apologise for any confusion.
“Here at Nintendo, we strive to eliminate any logical business decision.”
Ok, I added the last sentence. But seriously, why isn’t it compatible with other titles? How F’n insane is that?
The adapter sells for $20, and if you don’t have a Gamecube controller, that’ll set you back another $30. And don’t forget, the only freaking game it works for, which will retail for $60.
So for mere $100, you can play Super Smash Bros. with a Gamecube Controller. That price however, would only be for one person. Starting to feel a little ripped off?
