Retailers Suggest Watch Dogs in Development for Wii U
The video game that had everyone talking at E3 in 2012 was probably Ubisoft’s surprise tease of the sandbox title Watch Dogs. The title is by far one of the most graphically impressive games ever shown during the convention’s history, and much of the press was speculating that Watch Dogs was being developed for the next-generation of systems.
While we still don’t know if Ubisoft plans on releasing the anticipated game on the new Sony and Microsoft systems, we do know the title will ship for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
But today Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, all suggest that Watch Dogs will also be released on Nintendo’s newest platform the Wii U.
Last week, official marketing material was released which suggested Watch Dogs would be shipped during the holiday system on “all home consoles.” So these retailers mentioning the Wii U is getting its own version of the open-world game doesn’t seem farfetched at all.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ubisoft is there tomorrow when Sony ‘s allegedly announces the PlayStation 4, to show more gameplay running off of the system’s power.
