OUYA Ships in June, Preorders at Major Retailers have Started

For those interested in the android-based console, OUYA, you can expect to purchase one starting in June for $99.99, with each additional controllers costing $49.99. Preorders have also began at retails across the nation including Best Buy, GameStop, Target and

The idea behind OUYA, is it is a cheap affordable home console, running games off of the Android mobile operating system. So don’t expect the latest and greatest video games that are coming out for your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, on the OUYA. A majority of titles that gamers will be playing on the OUYA, are mobile based. But the idea of playing these games on the TV with the controller is exciting for some.

OUYA is also attractive to inspiring developers and/or start-up companies. OUYA can act like development kit, meaning programmers won’t need to buy anything special to create a game that could potentially make millions. All they”’ need is $100, buy this little cube system, and they can start making the next Angry Birds. Although it is a little bit more complex than just that, I’m obviously making it sound a little easier than it actually is.
