Online Multiplayer DLC Coming for Two-Year Old Scott Pilgrim: The Game
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was released as a $10 digital download back in 2010, around the time the film was released. The retro feel, beat em’ up title, was inspired more by the comic than the movie, and was met with positive reviews.
In a strange move, Ubisoft has revealed downloadable content for the year old title. The DLC is slated to be uploaded onto Xbox Live (presumably PSN) next week, and has a price tag of $2 (160 Microsoft Points). The update will finally give owners the chance to play online multiplayer, which was something I didn’t understand why it wasn’t available at launch…two years ago.
But thankfully, that’s not the only thing to expect if you decide to purchase the DLC. Ubisoft is going to add Scott’s roommate from the comic book, Wallace Wells as a playable character.
I find it a bit odd that Ubisoft is still investing money into a title that was released in 2010. Especially when you consider a full-fledge retail games that cost $60 are no longer supporting new downloads, after the first year of release. And while $2 isn’t asking a lot to play the game online with friends, and this type of genre is perfect for that, I just wish it was available sooner, because at this point, I’m done with playing it. Of course, I’m speaking for myself only here.
