Gearbox to have Surprises at PAX
Gearbox Software has confirmed that they will be hosting their own panel during the gaming convention PAX, in Seattle. If attendees read the PAX schedule, they’ll find that Gearbox is ready to unveil some new surprises.
“Jump in for juicy exclusives, surprising disclosures, unbelievable scoops and behind the scenes access on what Gearbox is up to – straight from the source,” reads the description on the PAX schedule. “Have a first hand look at live presentations and never before seen footage of upcoming Gearbox releases!”
One of the biggest surprise hits in gaming this year had to be Gearbox’s Borderlands. The studio has revealed that they plan to release new content for the first-person-shooter/RPG. It’s also been known that Aliens: Colonial Marines, based on the Aliens film franchise, is being developed by Gearbox as we speak. So I’m assuming some of these announcements, along with footage will be addressed. However, there have been numerous rumors about the company working on a possible Duke Nukem title, and some have speculated that they’re finishing up the long awaited Duke Nukem Forever.
While I doubt they’re finishing up Forever, I certainly think they have been working on a Duke Nukem game. About two years ago, we were the first to report that Gearbox was indeed working on some kind of Duke Nukem game. At the same time, websites were speculating that the studio was secretly working on a Halo title, which we now know is false. But our source — who was inside Gearbox — said they were indeed working on a Duke Nukem title.
Could we finally see a new Duke Nukem title announced during PAX? God I hope so…
