Halo: Reach Illegally on Torrent Sites, MS Banning Accounts
Earlier today, the full version of Halo: Reach appeared on various torrent sites around the net. Meaning, some gamers have downloaded the title illegally and are playing the game.
In case you’re wondering how this was even possible, considering the game isn’t out until September 14th, we’ll tell ya. The title was being hosted on a private area, where journalist had the ability to download it for review purposes. Someone committed a crime by hacking into this exclusive part of Xbox Live and downloaded it, and after all that, he/she then decided to put it on file-sharring sites.
This isn’t the first time a Halo game was made available as an illegal download. Back in 2004, the French version of Halo 2 was gettable for free, due to torrent sites as well.
Now Microsoft has called on their damage control team to protect this anticipated title from getting into the hands of pirates. As of now, they are trying to persuade people from downloading the title, by threatening to ban their Xbox Live accounts for good. A process some gamers have already experienced thanks to them downloading Halo: Reach.
