Killzone 3 Confirmed by Sony Boss
Jack Tretton, CEO of Sony America, has confirmed that the third installment of Killzone is on the way, it’s just a matter of when. The boss of PlayStation 3 revealed the news while having an interview about the PlayStation Move motion controller with Game Trailers. “Well, we own Guerrilla Games and they did a great job on Killzone 1 and 2,” said Tretton. “I don’t know if you’ll see announcements about it, but I can promise you a Killzone 3.”
When asked if we could possibly see the game unveiled at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo — and while it sounds like a ‘yes,’ he wanted to tease fans about what to expect during E3: “This is just the frosting on the cake, I’m saving the batter for E3. We will absolutely bring the heat, there’s a lot to talk about.”
Every year, I find their is a gaming trend that highlights E3. For instance last year I felt developers were trying to perfect the story in games. Many of the titles were focusing on mixing its gameplay with a deep story, and trying to tell it in an innovative way. Now this year, it looks like companies will try to innovate their games by changing the way we play it.
Various sources close to the next Killzone project, revealed that not only will it be using stereoscopic 3D glasses, but also utilize PlayStation Move. And then we have Microsoft showing off Project Natal, along with Nintendo finally displaying the Vitality Sensor. It sounds like many gamers will be loosing a few pounds during the show, thanks to the excess of moving around.
