PSN to Get the Dante’s Inferno Demo on Dec. 10, Xbox Dec. 24th

Somehow Sony has snagged the demo for Dante’s Inferno two-full weeks before Xbox 360 owners can tryout the tease. EA has announced the hack n’ slash videogame, adapted from the epic poem, will be available on the PlayStation Network starting December 10 and Xbox Live members can first download it on Christmas Eve.

No word on how Sony managed to get the demo earlier or why Microsoft thought the day before Jesus’ “birthday” would make a good time to explore the Gates of Hell.

In the demo players are introduced to Dante Alighieri’s re-imagined past as a crusader who returns home to Florence to discover his true love, Beatrice, murdered. As her soul escapes her body, she is kidnapped by the dark shadow form of Lucifer. Sworn to her rescue, Dante must journey to the Gates of Hell and beyond to battle undead monstrosities, unholy boss demons, and Death himself. Offering a glimpse into the vast world of Dante’s Inferno, the demo serves as a prelude to the player’s perilous journey to the inner bowels of hell.”
