Dante’s Inferno Dated for Feb. 9, 2010

Electronic Arts’ answer to God of War, Dante’s Inferno, now has an official release date. The big-time publisher is shipping their title, which is the videogame adaption of Dante Alighieri’s poem ‘The Divine Comedy,’ on February 9, 2010. The game is coming out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

In the epic video game, players will control Dante — who fights through the nine circles of hell which are limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. As he travels through afterlife, he looks to salvage the soul of his love Beatrice.

While there is no question, the potential of Dante’s Inferno is great. But can EA have the gameplay to match the story? Maybe so, the team behind Dead Space, Visceral Games, is developing it.
