Video Featurette Shows Gameplay for ‘Staff of Kings’

LucasArts decided to create a corny featurette for Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. However, the good part of the video is that it shows actual gameplay for the first time. Watching the clip, you’ll notice Indy doing all shorts of things like, him using his whip, punching, white water rafting and of course, running away from a giant ball.

During the video, the assistant producer of the game John Szary, talked about a feature that is included in the game and is called ‘Hot Sets‘. While exploring the game, Dr. Jones can use his whip to interact with objects. For instance, if you see a bookshelf next to an enemy, Indy could use his whip to cause the shelf to crash on the villain. Another way the player can take advantage of a ‘Hot Set‘ is if you see an enemy holding a gun. Simply flick the whip and snag the weapon out of his hands. Amazing, it’s just like the movie! (/sarcastic)

After watching the video, we’re not too impressed thus far, but we haven’t tried it yet. So, you never know.

The game will be available this summer for Wii, PSP, PS2, and the DS.

Check it out after the jump.

  1. actually looks pretty cool. and surprisingly not bad looking for a Wii game.

  2. Did you catch how it’s also “coming out on the PS2, Nintendo DS, and the PSP?” So much for the Wii going head-to-head with the Xbox360 or PS3.
